Sat's Stuff....

The angel is made of wood and is from the Philippines. I think its bow is lost as it did have a stick for a bow for the string instrument.

Missionaries from South Africa gifted us this many years ago. We had created a decorated room of their country so they could give presentations to church people. We had painted a mural of the mountain that was in the area where they worked. The bicycle is all handmade from wire done with a lot of detail of a racing bike.

Missionaries from Swaziland gifted us the carved lion a few years back. The king of the country has now changed the country's name to  Eswatini. The wood is a lightweight one that I am not familiar with.  The carving is difficult to photograph as the tail swings one way and the head in the other.

The lion really expresses his strength and his growl is dangerous.

When my dad was shipped over to Europe to fight in WW II, he landed in Belgium before being deployed into the Battle of the Bulge.  His regiment advanced into Germany and he was there when the war was declared over.  This wooden shoe had been in the family trunk for years. The spelling of the country is puzzling to me that is written on the wooden shoe. It is so ironic that today my dad's granddaughter who he has never met now lives in Belgium.

A project report is that I am figuring out how to do the cap on the wainscoting.  It is going to take three different pieces of trim to make this work.  The top piece of quarter round is needed to help cover up as to how badly the walls were constructed.  When I lay a ruler against the drywall the persons who installed it did so with a very uneven surface.  One can't see it normally but when you place molding against it the gaps show up.

Thanks for dropping by today.

We never got to finish the trim on our project of Wainscoting. I may have to learn to put up trim myself?

This looks great though. I understand about the drywall issues. Our new walls are not perfect or as well done as those done in the original part of the house.

Nice photography in your light box!
The mystery spelling on the show?
French: Belgique = Belguim. :)
