Monday Morn.....
The sun is just at the horizon, reflecting on the clouds creating a wonderful pattern of colors.
At about thirty minutes later the sun is up and shining. The earth tilts cause me to see the sun behind the house. I guess the sun is a whiter light so things have changed to clear blue skies.
A mystery has now been solved. We have been hearing a dog barking and really didn't know where it was. We thought it was our neighbor's black dog that is in view, one house over in the backyard. He has the company of a black and white French bulldog. When we heard the barking it was not him as he wasn't outside. Yesterday I caught a glimpse of the above dog across the street. It is the view just through the two back houses looking over to the next street's row of houses.
It is not a great photo but the dog did move for me to get a full shot of him. He barks as he is tied up outside in their front yard. I think he sees so many things that need to be addressed. I am sure he does have a backyard to run in but for some reason they have started to tie him up outside in the front. It has been over a month we have heard him but did not know where he was. Now when we hear continue barking we have an idea of where the dog is.
It rained for a few days and we got some rain. Two and a half inches is the verified number by looking at two of my gauges. We are still in need of so much more moisture. It rained continually as we drove south to the funeral It seemed a long time since I have driven in rainy weather.
We attended a funeral last Wednesday near here and then another one an hour south in the hills of southern Iowa. The time change hits and we are already drained. Maybe by tomorrow we can be back to normal. I work a little and rest a lot. Thanks for stopping by today.

Cold.....
The fall evenings seem to have great sunsets. I didn't see this at first but I looked out onto the back yard view and the neighbor's house had a pink light on it. I grabbed the camera and went out front to see this.
I tilled the raised garden a few days ago. The 83 year old neighbor wanted to do it for me but I thought I should do it myself. He started the machine for me and I did it. The animal that crossed back and forth and left tracks I really can not identify. The tiller I inherited and I lent it to the older guy and he got it all running and he is so glad that he doesn't have to buy one.
Here is a close up view of the animal tracks. I know that it isn't a mountain lion. I know that it wasn't a deer. I think it might have been a dog but why was he walking over it. It could have been a cat but I think they are spaced too far apart for that. I guess I need to get a night camera.
I went outside to work on my potter's wheel this morning and I got the shivers while there. I quit quickly and I guess I will hang up my hat for pottery work for the season. We were at 42° at the time so I should have known better. We will drive south tomorrow for a funeral. It is predicted that we may have snow in the morning. I am not ready for winter. Thanks for stopping by today.

Thursday's Things......
The morning shot was a good one. It faded to gray soon afterward so I must have just hit it at its peak time.
I finally broke off the flower stems on the yuccas. They had drying seed pods that the birds did empty. I walked by and tried to bend them off and they snapped easily.
All of my iris moves were successful. This is a happy sight when you plant them and wonder what really will happen. I hope that they were moved soon enough that I can get some blooms from a few of them this spring. I moved some from an area where there was too much wet clay and the did not ever bloom after a few years. They should be happy in there new locations and fresh commercial garden soil in which to grow. I wanted to get more tulip bulbs in but I need to buy them first.
The burning bush was an older one and the drought took most of it out. I kept trimming it back and this is what I have. I should have bought a new one for the front and just eliminate this one. I will let it live through another season.
Our oldest son was at out home for two days. We attended a funeral of my wife's sister-in-law. She was aunt Linda to the kids and our son didn't hesitate to come back for it. We got two new school photos of our grandsons. AJ is a fourth grader this year and Teddie is in first grade. Ella is three and and a half years old and attends daycare three times a week The newest photo of her isn't so new.
It was a long day with the funeral visitation and funeral. We were then at the grave site in Grimes, Iowa. After a small meal our son took off to get to his family again. He was home by 7:00 in the evening. We have another funeral to attend on Saturday. I am hopping I will able to see some of my nieces and nephews there as they lost an uncle on their mom's side. That will make funeral three in less than a month and a half. I hope that will be the last for a long while. Thanks for stopping by today.
