North Shore Minnesota......

You may not have noticed but I had to go somewhere to get new material. I think my followers were bored with the lily pictures. I have more lily pictures, don't you fear, but we went to Duluth, Minnesota for a couple of days. It is a six to seven hour drive barring a large number of stops along the road. Our little white dog had not travel with us for five years so we did a lot of stopping. He didn't need to stop so much as he just didn't like to stay in the car that long. We were so excited to get to go that we were really patient with him. He returned very well behaved and got use to traveling. I have a lot of new material for my blogs and the light house at Split Rock, north of Duluth will be discussed in the future.
Duluth has had an impressive rose garden for years, but they had to move it a few years back for road construction. They put in a freeway along the shoreline of the city, below city level, and ended up covering parts of the freeway with soil to create a park and to cover it so you won't see or hear it. The rose garden went in new on top of one of the areas and the freeway runs underneath it.
The story of shipping in and out of Duluth can be extensive. The Lake Superior dumps into the Mississippi but but before it does there is this large harbor where products are shipped out as well as brought in to the United States. We regret we didn't stay very long in Minnesota but we are needed in Iowa for so many things. We may try to go back in the fall. Thanks for reading....

I can't believe we were like ships in the night. You probably left Duluth the day we got there. We went down to Canal Park on Friday night and the clouds were all dark and the sun came out...I got some pics of that same lift bridge. ha
I'll post them later this week....just got home from there~!
