I shared this photo yesterday on my Photo a Day blog. It is the obscured view of my feeding cardinal. I am going to have to turn the feeder around so I don't have those braces blocking the view of them.
The female had been on the top of the feeder too but she found some sunflower seeds on the ground that she liked better. The junco in the background is picking up millet from the snow. I was so cold yesterday that I didn't venture out to the squirrel feeder but instead just tossed shelled corn out on the ground a ways away from the bird feeder. My three squirrels seem to be glad to have corn to eat.
The wooden bird is an easier kind to take care of as it stays put and doesn't require any attention. It is good to put it in your hands and feel its smoothness. I pick these up as extra gifts to give my wife one more present to open at Christmas time.
Many things going on in our lives right now. We are waiting for a new couch and a wingback chair to be delivered this morning. I tired last night to move the old couch to another room for storage until I can find a truck to borrow to take it to the dump. Living in an old house is challenging as the doorways to the two rooms off of the living room are 32 inches or less in width and no modern furniture is going to go through those doorways. Rather than wait until this morning when the temps would be colder, we drug the old couch out the front door and I drug it around to the west entrance of the house, to bring it back into the house. Old houses have a lot of positives but I am realizing that there are almost too many negatives. Our furniture dealer is a good one but it won't take away the old furniture. That is a bad deal.
The temps being so cold, we won't venture very far today. I know a lot of my blogger friends are also very cold today. I wish everyone to be well today. Thanks for stopping in today.

Moving and changing around can be tiring.
Hopeful we want have to do that any more.
We now have snow and it is very cold here.
I bet the delivery guys would have helped you move it! Last time they took ours! We have also donated a few to the local Fire Dept!...they pick up! :)
Extremely cold here in Wellman. I remember having roses wilt just bringing them from the store to the car when it was cold like today.
You are right about there being many downsides to living in an older home as we well know, Larry. And, it is really hard to find places that will cart away old things, even when they are being donated.
