This is a healthy plant. I have a few of these that seem to be dry and the leaves are not looking very good. We could use the rain that everyone else seems to be getting.
The New England bluebells seem to be having the same problem and the blooms are coming out a few at a time. The soil is very dry in this area also. Rain and maybe 4 inches of snow may help them out a little. We are told the snow won't hang around for very long, but we are too warm right now to have snow.
I am calling these seeds and yet I don't know that to be a fact. The birch puts out these neat hanging podlike things and then the do act like pollinators. When you see them as a group they remind me of a weeping willow tree by the way they all hand and dangle down, blowing in the wind in unison.
I don't know if you can buy cheap tulips anymore but these I have had on the property many years. They are little tulips and seem to be pretty tough as they bloom in spite of the weather.
Here is another of my daffodils a day shot. They are about through blooming already as the colors of some of them are fading. I do have some late blooming ones that I will see bloom next week.
My cherry bush story is on my Photo a Day today. I don't want to retell it and it isn't that great of a story anyway. The bush cherry is the first blooming tree on my property each spring if the weather cooperates and the buds get frozen off. One year the ice was so bad that a majority of the bush broke of and died. I don't recommend buying this product but I make the best of it if I can get jelly from the fruit juice.
My final finish today is the one lone vinca bloom. It does well in Iowa and does spread as a vine but it seems to be only an early spring bloomer. I am glad to see its blooms though each spring while I am waiting for the globe allum and hostas to come up in the same area.
Study hall again today and it is an early out day today. I hope everyone is having a good day. I also hope that those to the north of me survive their spring snow storm. We are predicted to have almost 4 inches of snow today or this evening but it is told that it will melt very fast. Des Moines is sitting at 60 degrees right now so it isn't going to snow here until the north winds cool us down. Thanks for stopping by today.

Very nice pics. Our yard helper told me those are catkins on the birch tree. He said chickadees love to eat them.
Hard to imagine that folks are still having snow; however, I know you need any moisture you can get.
That is a Birch Catkin..the female part..when the small parts of the catkins "open" up or bloom it is fertilized then they dry up and the seeds fall out.
