First Day.....

It is like a buffet for the birds.  I doubt I ever get hummingbirds now but someone I know on the blog near here did have one.  The goldfinch and house finch are not rushing to the feeder but I have had a couple stop buy.  I saw one bird during breakfast that came to the recently hung wild bird seed feeder. We really are too green and have too many dead weeds now to make the birds need to come to the feeders.

We will have rain for three more days and the birds do seem to stay in the trees for shelter during that time. Flooding is predicted from all the rains north of us. The Des Moines River seems to be getting dumped in more than the larger rivers of Mississippi and Missouri.  You have heard that we are the land between two rivers but the one in the middle that seems to get most of the attention.

The same tree that I shared earlier is now getting more serious bright colors.  When I zoom in on this tree I notice the kids have a basketball hope to the back and right of the house there. The tree that I recently planted won’t totally block this view but it will cover the view of the house to the left of it.  That was sort of the plan to make our view to be less wide open but to be a little more private.

The tree I planted will take a few years before it starts to do any shielding of any view. Because that development below us didn’t line the houses up with our development, our view is clearly through the two back houses and on to the block beyond.

The Halloween decorations have started and I am awaiting the placement of a large spider for that web. The two dark witches are having there again this year.

I know we are to warm up today into the middle 70s.  I don’t know how that will happen when there is no sun in sight.  I would like to see the sun as I have forgotten what it looks like with full sunlight. Our back of our house is backed with windows and when the sun shines it lights up the whole house. We have lights on a lot of the time in the daytime with this kind of fall weather.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a good Monday all day.

I keep seeing the odd Hummingbird at the feeder, but after Thursday, I fear they will all but disappear.
Yes, the Halloween decorations are showing up around our parts too, I used to decorate lots, but not so much any more.
Hope you stay dry Larry !
