Needs Something......

This floor plan is what sold us on this house while viewing it.  The kitchen, dining room, and living room are one great space. The oak floors and kitchen are wonderful too.  The room has furniture that needs to be moved in soon.  Wednesday the place starts to come alive, with movers move our major pieces into the house.  Furniture that we bought will be delivered on Friday. Our sons arrive on Thursday night to help move all the boxed items.  It will look differently next Saturday and we really won't be fully moved in but we may be living there anyway.

This is"Big Blue" with a flowering tree that is growing directly behind it and another tree to the left. The previous owners were in the house for about 11 years and I am sure they are the ones who placed this tree in the ground. Once my two trees leaf out the view of suburbia will be blocked a little more. We have only seen it in the winter so it will be fun for it to get greener.

We spent a lot of the day putting a primer coat of paint on our bedroom walls.  We now understand why we didn't like the color.  The original color on the bedroom walls was a bright green aqua.  What was done with it was to have one coat of a bright yellow on top of it right before they put it on the market.  The one coat did not cover and while we worked with it today we saw that green in splotches all over the wall. I can't see the couple have that color of green on it but they must have liked it. One good white primer coat has now covered any hint of green.  I am assuming we will have to do two coats of paint on the white walls now. The new color is being chosen from the new bedspread colors.

Sunday will be a good day for rest.  We both are very exhausted.  Out next five days are going to be a challenge but we will take it one day at a time.  It will be good to have our sons show up and do some heavy lifting.  The one son from Maine is flying into Chicago and then will be riding over with his older brother. We will start to take Barney over to the different house so he can get use to it.  He will be so glad that he can sleep in our bedroom now and he loves the two boys. I have to rebuild a stair from the garage into the kitchen so he can maneuver them.

Thank you for checking in on my post today.  You do know that I won't be up and at 'em soon as I will be too busy to blog.  I will update the week when I can.

Your floorplan is almost identical to ours! First time we've ever had an "open" floor plan and we love it. Glad you put the primer on the green/yellow walls. So thankful your sons can help with the heavy lifting. I believe Barney will be very happy there. I like the yard and the trees in back. Praying for you all during these busy days.

What a great open space! You are going to enjoy making this empty house your home sweet home. I look forward to seeing more pictures.

Have a good week moving in and seeing your sons. You are blessed to have their help.

Thank you for the kind comments you leave on my blog.

It is good to hear that your boys are coming to help you move. Moving is hard. It looks like your new place is very nice! You have neighbors close by and I hope they welcome you into the neighborhood! :)
