This is just a spot to visit, of one who is on a journey. You can see my projects, plants, family, pets, artworks, antiques and anything else that comes along.

Sunday's Trip.....
Robert was 100 years old yesterday and we went to his birthday party. It was a large crowd with family, old friends and neighbors. He is my sister-in-law's father. My brother and she have been married for 50 years so I have known Robert and the family for that long also.
He was a farmer all of his life and retired from faming when he was 65 years old. The farm home has been maintained and kept in good condition. The farm is east of Osceola, Iowa.
It is an old four square style house but has a two story addition to the front to give the house two extra rooms. Robert is still living there by himself with hospice care twice a day and a daughter that lives in Indianola. The grandkids decorated the place with lots of pumpkins and mums placed all around the property.
The photo tacked to a decorated area shows the three children and Robert with his parents. I am assuming Robert's wife took the photo so she is not in the picture. The girl on the left is my sister-in-law. The taller guy, her brother lives in Alaska, and younger sister is in Indianola.
It was nice we could go down and join a crowd of 80 people or more to celebrate his day. When we returned the sun was setting in the clouds. It was a windy day, and Barney sort of let me snap this iphoto while I walked him. I can blame Barney on the lean as he really did not want me to stop for anything.
Mondays are slow in starting as we get back to the weekly routine. I know it is coming but my body tells me we didn't get much rest after two adventurous days. We are hot and humid today and it is cloudy. We will be hot most of the week as we react to the weather of the past few weeks along the easter shoreline. Thank you for stopping by today.

What a wonderful man...100 hundred years old and still living at home, kudos to him !
The farmhouse is simply gorgeous, I would love to hear some of the stories it could tell over the ages.
