This is the view in the evening as the sun sets to the west and shines over to this row of trees in the east of my property. I see this is a repeat posting of this shot. I think it is good enough to be shared again.
While workmen are in my basement installing a new furnace I escaped into the backyard. I pulled the last of the marigolds even though some still had some good blooms. They were sprawling all over the ground as the cold did effects its stems. I collected seeds from some of the plants that had dried seed pods on them and also collected from live flowers. The past years of droughts were hard on my marigold but this I had lots of blooms that I enjoyed. These were on their way into the recycle sack and I just thought I had to get one last shot.
I trimmed back my pink rose everywhere except for this one stem. It has two buds and a bloom and I just left it. I will return later and take out the entire stalk as it is almost laying on the ground.
I cleared more dead phlox stems this morning but I had to leave this one last bloom . They have spread a lot in the garden and I guess it is okay as I wanted it to look like a cottage garden.
My burning bush is a few years old but it was planted during the drought. Finally it has taken off and looks like it will look like a strong bush.
We are hearing predictions of really bad weather to come. It is going to start being very cold and windy. Snow may come and go but the wind chills will be bad. It sounds like no one will want to go out on Sunday. Today we are having mild weather. When the furnace is completely installed I am going to get a few needed groceries. The workmen seem to say things are going very smoothly. Maybe I can get out of here by four and get the things that I need and get home. I will buy supper and bring it home. That is the best way to cook when you are tired.
Thanks for stopping by today.
