In Progress.....

It is a very large frame and it is in good shape except for this corner.  It looks like  it has been rubbed against something as the gold on it has rubbed off and or faded.  I have a gold pen that i am using to restore it but my gold paint does not have the shine as the original one does.  I my have to put a shiny clear finish on top of it to get it to shine like all the rest.

I have a large photo to mat and frame with glass for my older gentleman friend.  He had me restore another frame holing a photo of an old bridge.  This poster will also be of a bridge but of the modern one that replaced the older one.  I will show you when I am finished because as you can see it is in progress.

I am in the at risk room today helping people to get their homework caught up or done.  It is a great way to keep track of some who need to be hovered over a lot so they will be able to  pass in their studies.  My cold is better, I don't feel great, but I can work.   Thanks for stopping by my post.

The last of the last....

These two will be picked up today in the morning. The framing will have been all delivered or picked up and we are done with all the framing.  The seed corn sacks were quite a challenge to sew, glue and stick to the black core backing. If we were counting all of our labor the lady would not have afforded this job. It is the reason we want out of the business as people ask for the impossible and think it is all magic when they receive the results. We make it look too simple when it is not.

When I delivered the horse framing yesterday I was able to see a new house full of many old antique furniture.  I will share that surprising and great tour that I took later.

It is still in it's box.  I will remedy that soon and get it onto the tree.  I must have bought it on super sale last year.

It is a busy day today and I hope everyone is getting all their last minute things done.  We are done shopping as of yesterday and we have to wrap presents for each other, then we are done.  Della is making mince meat pie and I have a couple of things to make and then we head for Christmas Eve services tonight.  The boys are with their in laws this Christmas and we will be getting together with my wife's brother and his wife.

Well the lady called and said she really didn't need the framed seed sacks until next weekend, so we stopped holding off our plans waiting for her to come.   

Yesterday's chores..........

I finished up a group of eight quilt blocks by matting and framing them for one of my customers.  The shop is closed but there is still work to get finished.  These were done by a person's  mother and she is sharing them with all the relatives.  Most of the blocks were done when she was young so they were difficult to stretch with out evidence of imperfections in the work.  The Chinese believe that evidence of the worker, artist, should show and that it should not be perfect so these quilt pieces do just that.

My wife and I potted up the leaf starts from the violet tray.  We also split one larger violet and turned it into two plants.  I am a lot concerned about that one as the roots were not so well sprouted on it that I cut away from the main plant.

I found these pots on sale earlier in the year and liked how you can water the plant from the bottom with the deliberately placed opening to facilitate it.

My final finish for the blog today is a photo of some plastic flowers. We have an area on the porch that just won't get enough light to living plant so we place seasonal fakes there instead.  I really liked the colors and patterns that the camera picked up in this shot.

Headed to  work on the house again today.  It is going to warm up so I can do a number of things outside to help get the house ready for sale.  A neighbor couple looked at it last week and really liked the renovations that we had done to the two bathrooms and the new kitchen floor.  They had only one income so they really didn't think they could swing a loan but I told them it wouldn't hurt to go talk to a bank and see.  If they can afford rent maybe they could get a loan for 35 years which really lowers the payments, plus 3 percent interest rate, wow.

I am glad it is warming up again as the fall really shouldn't be this cold.  I have a yard to be mowed again but it can wait until it really warms up.  I don't like to mow grass and wear a heavy coat at the same time.  I hope all is well with you out there and thanks for stopping by.
