Saturday....

The hummingbirds returned a few days ago. I don't know it if they are going to stay or if they are migrating north. I felt lucky to capture this shot as the come and go so quickly. I had some shots last evening but the lighting is too bad that they were shadows.

I was glad to see this iris to finally bloom. It was a promising bud for a very long time. I am moving into my full iris bloom season very soon.

The locust tree was planted by the previous owner and I do really like it. This one is slow to unfold its leaf shapes that come out later than most trees. I look out one morning and there they were all there. The variety is so much better than the sharp barbed ones that we had when I was a kid. You couldn't walk barefoot under those two trees.

I have planted chives in many places. We do use it on our baked potatoes but I like it as a foliage and its flowers. They will flower very soon.

I apparently planted these a couple of years ago. I wasn't around for spring last year as my wife was in the hospital. When I saw then this spring I was pleasantly surprised to see them. I had dozens of these globe allium at our old place and I must have bought some on a whim while at the lumber store. I have planted them in three different places and if all works out well they will spread.

I mowed the front yard this morning and was glad to take a rest afterwards. I am at the end of a bad cold and my energy level is challenged at this point. I do feel better but I am not up to par for an old man like me. Thanks for stopping by today.

Goodness! I love the shot of the hummer! Ours are gathering ... we have two now visiting with the Orioles.

Your flowers look amazing.
I hope your cold gets much better.
