Spring Things....

There are strong winds and the tulips bow to their force. The sun is shining through the red blooms making them look beautiful. The periwinkle doesn't have strong blooms but they do put out a few in the spring. They are a subtle statement against all that red.

I added this new flower bed beyond and around the corner of the garage door cement. Iwas two years ago and now it shows that it paid off to do so. The tulip variety was all I could buy at the time and it is a good one.

I pulled out a lot of the creeping phlox and I really don't regret it. There are tulips that have come up now that it some of it  gone. I have always admired creeping phlox as a younger person but now I really see I have to keep it under control.

The two flowering trees are in full bloom now. My trees are older but still do put out a good show. Their shapes are not so great as some severe winds have thinned out some of the main trunks.

I was away yesterday from the blog world but I am glad to be back again today. Our pollen count was at a dangerous high number yesterday and I had one solid sinus headache. From the warning map it showed the solid yellow warning zone of bad air coming all the  way from up in Minnesota. I haven't had one of those attacks for years but the wind helped to make it a bad day for it.  We are windy again today but we are almost reaching 70 degrees F.   The grass is greening up and I am planning to do my own mowing this year. I can see people mowing in another week to even things up.  Spring is here for sure. Thanks for stopping by today.

We had good weather yesterday also, it was nice out but I could hear some wind on the ridge tops.
I pulled a lot of my Periwinkle as it was looking pretty sad. It will probably regenerate. We had some really cold temps this winter and no snow cover so it killed a lot of plants.
