Friday's Posting......

I went out and picked some more roma tomatoes.  We will have tacos for supper.  There are still a few green ones out there on the vine and I will pick them if there is a frost danger.  I would rather they ripen out there.  The squash vines are all gone now except for one last strand that has the little squash on the end of  it.

We had a small rain and the zinnia's came back to life for a little while longer.  I was going to mow them down this week but I have been at school all week instead.  The weather was warm yesterday again and it seemed like one of our better fall days.  We are cooling down nights now and the furnace turns on in the morning for a  while but it warms up by noon.

I am a middle school science teacher today.  A large group of the students from middle school and high school are going to spend the day planting trees in town.  They have hundreds of them to plant so it will be nice to have that done.  I will have the leftover students all day.

I have been asked to be a full time sub now and I will just go each day. I will find out what they want me to do for the day when I arrive in the mornngs.  The person was getting tired of calling me each day and this way I do now know what day I will be working, every day.   I will get vacations with special testing days and holiday breaks and other days off so I am going to be ok with it for now.  I figure I can make it for the next eight months and then I can decided if I ever want to do it again next fall.

Thanks for stopping by and have a good weekend.

The bounty......

I have given one away already and I have promise a few more to another neighbor friend.  I need to find a cool place to store these so we can enjoy them all winter.

Be careful out there with your miter saw.  I got sloppy and tried to cause great injury to myself.  Fortunately I only tore the skin off the top of my thumb.  I drug my hand under the blade as it was coming to a stop.  The actual realization that I could have lost my thumb made it worse than the  experience. Yes it did hurt a lot and we have a pressure bandage on it to keep it numb.

I have never really had an accident with any power tool before this. Obviously I will be monitored by someone for a while while sawing and also I will be more aware than ever of the dangers of power tools.

It has been since Saturday and my brother in law had me using a chain saw today taking down some stubborn hard wood trees.

We didn't have a lot of tomatoes this year but we continue to get a bunch like this once a week.  We do get fresh salads that way without having to buy the hard ones from the store.

Have a good day and thanks for stopping by...........

Learning the ways of a camera.......

I am figuring out my wife's camera.  I was out yesterday morning and tried it out again to see what could happen.  I had to stop as the battery light came on and the camera shut down.

As my wife keeps telling me that it is our camera as we did buy it as a shared machine.  My wife uses it a lot to photograph her artwork that she places on sale on the internet.  It is a good camera.  It does do better if you use a tripod with it as I get a lot of movement with it.  My point and shoot was more forgiving with that but then I didn't have as clear of a result as I do with this one.

When we travel it requires the case to protect it and the two of us can not be shooting pictures as the same time.  That is why I had another.  Also this guy won't slip into a pocket for spontaneous shots.  Oh well, I will get use to it and will learn more about it as I use it.

A few more romas that I laid into the wooden wheelbarrow while I was picking and photographing.

It is Tuesday already and I don't know what I will be up to for the day.  I may get called in to sub and if not I will be down on the farm.  Everyone take care and thanks..............for stopping by my blog.
