The cold is bringing the birds to the feeders. I have actually two house finches in the shot even though only the head of one is showing. The juncos are around but weren't feeding at the time I took this shot.
This one lone starling showed up at the feeder at the time I was shooting the other birds. It just sat there as if it lost its flock. It didn't eat at first but then take a few seeds, then left. I always check the net to be sure I am identifying it correctly. I saw two names assigned to it as a common starling and European starling. I did see a larger number of them yesterday.
I had a goal today to fold this style of origami bird from memory. I could do it with the computer runing the tutorial but today I put away the computer. I do believe I mastered it even though there were merits to the other style of folding that I did for forty years. This process is fun to do and is quicker to do as long as one keeps the folds straight and the steps are in the correct order.
I guess it is time to move on now and find something new to learn during the winter. I have all my aquariums done with their yearly cleaning. I haven't put fish back into the last one that I cleaned. I am debating about buying a different kind of fish for that one, for a variety is good.
We were at 7 degrees F. this morning and the wind chill made it to feel like 1 degree F. We are not warming up much and I see the wind has spread snow from our roof down onto my front steps. I am not going to deal with that until Monday morning. The sidewalks look good so we didn't get any snowfall. I think the storm has stayed way south of us and is in the bottom tires of counties only.
Have a good rest of your day. I am drinking tea and sugar free cookies to keep myslf settled.
