Thursday's Things.....

The flowers from the shop look good in the house now that all outside flowers are on the verge of complete decline. The Peruvian lily and the carnations had to open up after they were in the vase for two days.

It is the last of the season for the morning glories.  The few stray vines that are acting like weeds among the zinnias are still putting out a few blooms.

The dogwood bush tends to turn color one branch at a time. It seems to be bad color as the drought has affected all plants.

We visited Israel in November of 2019.  Our first night in the country was at Nantanya.  It sits on the Mediterranean Sea.  I was shocked as to how the luxury hotel was made.  All the walls were concrete and the floors were polished concrete. I now understand the reason why it was built this way.

Bombs were in the area a few days ago and as you can see all the other buildings are made of concrete.  I never asked but I later did learn that every building has a mandatory bomb shelter in the basement.

We know the tour guide who lives in Jerusalem.  She has the story from the past, as she tells of going outside and shaking her wooden spoon in the sky with sirens blaring. She is cooking sauce and doesn't want to head to the bomb shelter.  We belong to a company that ships us artworks from Israel every three months.  We are aware of many dozens of artist.  We have things that have been created from the Golan to the southern part of the country. A lot of the artists live in Jersalem.  We can't wonder of the safety of them all. We have seen the farms where trees are grown along the farm fields to keep shooters from hitting the farmers in the fields.  We have walked the streets with diverse religions sharing the country. We have seen the soldiers with the guns walking the streets casually.

When Abraham was sent into the land, he was to take it away from the Canaanites.  We have seen the evidence of the Jewish people living there thousands of years ago. We have seen the streets of the Romans long before that. The muslim religion was created almost 600 years after Christ. Our visit to Israel was a trip of a lifetime.
