Button is doing great.........

I have had a lot of requests for an update and I guess I did stop writing about him. He was getting better so fast that I quit worrying about him as much so I guess I never wrote more.  His first day home was a bad one as he had stitches in his mouth from the removed growth. He also had a wart removed from his eyelid and one also one on his knee.  That was a tough thing for a dog to understand but he bounced back very fast.  He takes antibiotics twice a day and has a mild pain killer that relaxes him.
We are six days out and he is back to his old self.  The antibiotics and mild pain killer make him sleepy but he sleeps a lot anyway.  His eye seems to be healing over as well as his knee but these stitches are still sticking out, so he messes with them a little.  They are to dissolve on their own so we will see how long that will take.
By the second day he was up and barking at visitors and alert to most things going on.  My wife and I monitored him continually in the day time, taking turns the first two days, but we don't do that anymore.
There are tests being done on the growth and we hope that it is benign or at least low risk. He certainly doesn't feel sick like he has cancer so we are hoping it was just a growth.
Thanks to all of you for your care and concern.  I posted an older photo of him as I don't want you to see his eye at this point.  Have a great day!

I am so pleased Buttons has recovered so well after the surgery. It is distressing to see an animal suffer when we know they don't understand what is going on. Or do they?

This is such a wonderful picture of Button and the red, white and blue of the photo is perfect for this time of the year. I'm so glad to hear that Button is doing well.

My husband and I both are happy to read this update on Button. Glad to hear he is almost back to his old self. We hope the growth is benign or low risk also - keep us posted.

Button is a handsome dawg and he looks too sweet and happy to have endured such ouchie suffering. I am so pleased that he is getting better!
I read your former post. That is a pretty cool fishing box of stuff

I am glad to hear Button is doing fine. They keep us on our toes just like a two year old would. Only difference is, we can leave the doggy home alone, if we need to.

Have a nice evening.
