It looks like a magical tree with fairies living among its branches. It grows in the far corner of our property and it can not be seen from the house as the blue spruce covers its view. It is a pussy willow tree, not a bush, and it has grown up to be a big problem. Parts of it die out every year and it being a softwood tree, things fall down out of it often. I will be paying a company to come and remove it. I haven't heard when they will come but I am all ready for them. I don't like taking down trees but this one spreads out onto the neighbors yards. The one with the pool probably won't miss it with the leaves falling into his space.
The backyard view, looking down, you can see the red bud tree turning yellow. The cottage garden is slowly changing as I clear away plants for the winter. The zinnias have been through two days of frost so I am sure that they will start turning brown. When on the main level one doesn't see all the nieghbor's junk and bright blue pool. It is funny how Ben's yard is filled up with so much and John's yard is kept palin and simple with not things outside to clutter.
I finally got my cupola raised up taller a few days ago. I had made a six inch tall platform to put under it to raise its height, probably a month ago. I didn't go ahead and put it in as it would caused harm to the flowers around it. Now things are dead on the south side of it so I laid it on its side and added the lift. When I laid it over I had forgotten that the peak isn't attached to the square base. It makes it easier to handle. It is heavy as it originally was a real cupola from my garden shed at the old place. It had rotted at the base and I removed it so it wouldn't fall. When I took it down I decided to move it to the new place. It was all one piece then and I almost fell off the roof with it as it was heavy. I had to end up dropping it to the ground but that didn't do that much damage.
The roses are doing well in the fresh water and goblet. It is nice to be able to enjoy them inside. The frost is going to take them all out soon.
I mowed my neighbor's yard one more time even though she is soon to transfer ownership of it. The realtor told her it should be kept neat right up to the closing moment. I think that will be the last time I will need to mow it. I have my back yard mowed up from yesterday's work and I now have all my grass treatments down on the grass front and back too. I put things away today into the shed as if winter is coming. I did finish clearing the tomato vines today and even got the sunflower stem out of the ground, after soaking the roots with a couple of gallons of water. I have a lot more to bring in but anything that I can get done before it snows will be the better.
Thanks for stopping by today.
