I got the shot even though it is a bad shot. I was going to go outside to work and the bluejay was having a great time at the bird bath. I had to shoot through the sliding glass door and yes it looks like an impression of the bluejay.
I took the time to pick the last of my tomatoes as it will be freezing out there soon. I didn't get all the vines taken down yet but it will happen soon. I know that some of the tomatoes won't ripen but I bet most of them will. They are small but they still taste good. I have brought in the last of my potted plants that were on the patio as it will get too cold soon. When the wind from the north keeps blowing the Canadian air will nip it all.
My morning shot was not so great but I always keep an eye on my favorite old time silver maple tree. It shows the tree is dropping leaves. The one broken branch that hung on for two years finally came down. I am thinking the tree is at least two blocks away and it always shows up on my horizon in the morning. I owned six silver maples on my old place when I first bought it. As the years went by they came down from the weather or from the hate of the city. The last one came down when we had a derecho wind storm and it broke into many parts hitting the house. When I sold the house there was one volunteer younger tree growing in the back yard that I wanted to grow there.
I am a sucker for keeping hardy geraniums over the winter. This one was growing in the front yard and it looked too good with multiple buds on it. I pulled it up by the roots and found an antique pot to put it in. Cleaned it up in my downstairs plant workroom, bathroom, and it looks great. It is the only one that I have with this color. The other three are red ones. I wish I had a sink in my work shop where I could work with my plants.
Thanks for checking in today.
