Middle of the Week

I am almost to the point that I need to just cut down the tomato vines. I will hang in there a little bit longer.. If we get a freeze I will be out there the night before picking every last green tomato on the vine. They are all small but they still taste good. I have a sack full in the fridge keeping them from ripening that are bigger than these. I could cut these up to enhance our store bought tomato sauce.

I mowed the front of the yard this morning and also finished the last half of the backyard. I had a layover because of a small sprinkle yesterday so I just finished up everything this morning. I also grabbed my recycle sacks and filled them with the last row of five peony bushes.  I clipped them all down and then ran the mower over the whole area to take out weeds, grass, and some stray Russian sage.  It is all ready now for the next season with snow cover.  I got a lot of work done this morning even though that I didn't think I was going to be able to do it. I had a parka on to keep warm at first and the wet from sprinkles dried out enough while I cut the peonies, so I could then mow the yard. I am finishing off my morning with pumpkin bread and breakfast coffee, right before lunch. Thanks for checking in today.
