Tough Day...

It is a sad day at our house. We had to let our cat Nala go today. We found her less than a year ago as a kitten, and she had Manx syndrome. We kept her going for a longer period of time than the four months that they usually live, but the last few days were tough. It is less difficult to let them go when they are not well. She had given us a lot of love. She was such a special animal. She had special needs that we were privileged to care for and we miss her so much. Thanks for reading...

I'm so sorry. It's so difficult to lose an animal - sometimes harder to lose an animal than to lose a person, in my opinion. I had Kuppers from the time I was 6 until I was 20 and when we had to put him to sleep, I cried every single day for about two weeks. Hope you guys are doing alright.

I am sorry to hear about your lose. Cats are amazing creatures who touch our lives in so many ways.
Peace to you dear Garden Friend.

Thanks to you both. I am too old of a man to get so attached to a cat. Her helplessness to get better just breaks your heart and we did all we could do. We are going to make a garden area for her this spring and plant something special over her grave. We will get better but will never forget the things that she taught to us about ourselves.

Sounds like a very sweet idea. And you're never too anything to love something. At least her short life was filled with lots of love.

I am very sorry..it is never easy to lose a friend. It sounds like you rescued her from the brink of death when you found her..so I hope you are comforted by the fact that you gave her love and attention while you could. Sometimes I think the hardest part is letting go..heck I still bawl about dogs from my youth and a few cats sprinkled in there too..isn't that normal? :)

I was just reading your blog, and stumbled across this posting....
I am yet to read the earlier postings of your sweet kitty, but rest assured I will !
I am sorry that Nala has passed, it's one of the toughest part of life, losing pets.
It sounds like she was a wonderful companion and pet, one I'm sure you will miss greatly :(
