Labor or Not....

My neighbor was out working in his new fence so I went out to pick him some larger tomatoes. I had given them some smaller round ones. I got them  picked and he said no we have plenty.  Well a half hour later the door bell rang and the neighbor said his wife wanted some tomatoes. He mentioned that I had offered and he refused them.  So he brought a sack with him and I went down back with him and he did get some good large tomatoes.

This is an example of what our dry season is doing to things.  We are so dry that people are showing how one could walk across one of our major rivers on mostly dry ground.

This is the fiirst time that I notice this hosta putting out blue bell like flowers. It is a  pretty plain hosta with small thin leaves but late in the summer these flowers show up.

I spent time at the grocery store early this morning. I wanted to avoid large crowds and most people were not there. It was a good time to go.  I spent the rest of the morning cutting down dead flowers in the front gardens.  The peonies wilting because they just don't have enough moisture. I bagged up peonies, dead black eye susans and some sage plants. This is a bad year for that garden.  The sedum will look good there and maybe the aster will make it.

We both are moving slow today, still rebuilding our strength from the apartment clearing job. Now of course we can't hear how she is doing in the hospital as we can't get in.  Also her memory was becoming so bad she probably doesn't remember out number.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Funny about the neighbor man having to come back and ask for the tomatoes for his wife!

For several weeks, I did not have to water but have started back now.

So very sad about your and Della's friend. May the Lord be merciful to her.

You two take it easy and try to regain your strength.

Do you remember earlier this year they were predicting flooding! Funny how the Weather man is so wrong sometimes. The Mississippi is so low, we can see shore away from the breakwall. They actually had crews out there clearing the mud from the launch sites. It is currently raining, I sure how it dampens things up for Fall Mushrooms!
