The Lawn and Flower Report....

I just clipped off a stem from my front yard peony.  It makes me mad when I do that with the weed eater. I put it in water but but I  doubt it will bloom out in a vase. These peonies have never bloomed at the new place in the back yard.  I am curious to see what kind and color that they are.

My growing conditions are different as a lot of my iris has not bloomed.  My neighbor next one south has two varieties in bloom right now. This pink one is tough as it did bloom last year and has come back strong again this  year.
The red twig dogwood shrub is putting out blooms.  I mowed in the back yard this morning and the grass really was too tall.  Things got busy and I just didn't get it done.  It looks good other than I have a layer of the mowed grass laying on top of the cut grass.  It will take a few days for that to settle in to the grass.

The yellow cemetery iris is going to put out a lot blooms this year. I like how hardy that it is and this is on its second year of being planted there.  I need to spend more time in the gardens as the grass is growing in to fast among the flowers.

This white iris has put out two buds close together.  I have seen the two buds close together but usually they take turns in blooming.

I don't quite remember the actual color of this one but it will be out soon. The flag iris is getting ready to put on quite a show.  It has got itself really well established.

We are having a gray day with sprinkles once in a while. I had to come in because of the moisture while I was trying to trim grass.

Our state is suppose to be opening up more tomorrow. The death of the elderly continues. We are suppose to outlive it but we are made aware of it being out there.  We were told that the flu in November killed a lot of people too but we didn't broadcast it or share the numbers.  We both had that and it was the worse kind of flu that we had experienced of a long time.

I hope all are well and are not going to crazy.  I am beyond crazy but will plug along anyway. No appointments until the end of next week.  Thanks for stopping by today.

Thankful you have a break from appointments for a few days. Your peony, iris and red twig dogwood are so nice. Our neighbor has 2 dogs that run free. They often break a flower (or dig one up) and it is frustrating. We are weary of staying at home and tired of our own cooking! Things are opening up here but we still are very cautious. I'm sorry you got wet trimming the grass. We've had about 3 days of rain here.

Your Iris are beautiful! Yes we are a bit crazy here too. Far Guys Dr ordered a bunch of tests...I was in the parking lot for three hours...I could have come back home and had a long nap! Crazy for sure. Stay safe...people are nuts out there:(

Larry, you are not alone in saying that you are going crasy as everyone is starting to feel this way and especially with summer weather coming around. I'm not sure which to worry about more, the virus or crazy people.
