Stuff for the Day....

Family time was spent with the grandkids putting together some gingerbread houses.  They didn't take any home with them as they will put together bigger ones with their parents.  Our son is really into these so they do them every year.

Slowly I have been collecting the different older toys to display under one of my trees. I bring up antique toys from the 1930s to make my glass blown ornament tree look consistent.   I have spent the day bringing up  Christmas decorations to the main floor,  We have collected lots of things over the 39 years that we have been married so it takes a week to get it all upstairs from the storeroom.

Our kids from Maine send us a wreath to hang each year. This year it includes small white lights on it. The star fish from the ocean is a highlight and it is made of real greens that smells great. We were surprised to see it at the door as the UPS guy must have taken it home last night on the truck and delivered it at seven this morning while on his way to work.  It was not out there last night when I closed down the lights at midnight. The cold weather is perfect as it needs to be kept cool. We like to display it on our door that is used to go out the sunroom onto to deck.  It doesn't get heated in the night and it really isn't overheated in the day. It dries out to fast on the inside living room door and we can't see if it is on the outside front door.

I am babying this canna lily as it gets to be in the sunroom during the day and I bring it in during the night into the living room. It never bloomed all summer and I didn't remember the color of it when I bought it. It is fun to mess with as it looks like it will bloom over the next few weeks.

A busy Saturday for us and we will welcome a day off tomorrow. It has been gray and dark all day. No moisture from all the clouds. It would be nice to get rain but I think we may get some snow. We are in need for rain so snow is second best for now.  Thanks for stopping by today.

I love your interesting and antique ornaments and toys. They really do add a lot of character to your Holiday.

The canna lily looks happy and healthy!

It was gloomy here most of Saturday also. Looks like snow/mist/rain out the window, but it is still dark this morning!
