Snow is not so Much.....

The natural filter to this photo is the screen on the window. We had a light snow fall that left snow on roofs and decks but not on the ground.

For me as a kid in the 1950s this was heavy reading. I saved these back for grand kids but they could care less about them. They are now antique collector items but I don't think their would be a big price on them. That whole top shelf is filled with all the books of my childhood.  They were from my older brother's collection and the one brother just three years older than me.

My wife received various dolls in the years. The ones in the basket sitting the baby buggy year round. The red hooded doll use to be a battery operated one for Christmas.  The mechanism has warn out but it is still a nice display doll. It will be boxed up in its original box and store for the season to return again.

I keep snapping shots of under the tree as it is soon to be dismantled. Our grandson Teddy makes the space ships with legals and I never tear them apart after he goes home. They have their own special box.

We are settled in today with aches and pains from our flu shot. The reaction is minimal compared to our experience of the covid shot but the ful one is bad enough. The soreness in muscles is always a mystery as the hot was just in the one arm.

A nearby town, Perry, Iowa, made the national news a few days ago, as a 17 year old decided to shoot people in the high school lunchroom.  It wouldn't have made national news but one presidential candidate was in town at the same time. The boy shot many people before shooting himself to death. The only death of the students injured was of a sixth grader.  It was a shared lunchroom area where middle school and high school can buy breakfast. As the side stories come out is is said the attacker was a very bullied young man for a few years.  The story is far more complicated than will ever be told by the press.  The Principal also took multiple shots but is going to survive. It is all very sad and two families have been completely destroyed from the happening.

We are getting flakes of snow falling, one every square foot. It isn't a promise of any moisture for us. Thanks for stopping by today.
